Turkey Tail

What are they?

Turkey Tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor), is named for it’s colorful, fan-like appearance reminiscent of a turkey’s tail feathers, they are found in forests worldwide, growing on fallen logs and decaying wood. These mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for centuries and are celebrated for their potent immune-supporting properties. Their high levels of beta-glucans, a type of polysaccharide, help stimulate the immune system, making Turkey Tail particularly valued in supporting the body’s defense against illnesses and infections.

Beyond immune support, Turkey Tail is rich in antioxidants, which help reduce cellular damage caused by oxidative stress, thereby promoting overall health. Studies suggest that Turkey Tail may also have benefits for gut health, as it promotes a healthy microbiome by nourishing beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract.
